In a real world garage and MOT station with no special tools unless absolutely necessary because there's no alternative ! The pictures above are a couple of my favourite vehicles. A 1950 series 1 with the baby 1.6 litre engine and the trusty 200Tdi CSW workhorse. I even tell you what spanner sizes you will need in a/f and metric ! Before you even start the job you will know where all the bolts are and in what sequence things need to be done.

I show you how to check the joints and bushes and what tool to use. How to adjust your power steering belt, alternator belt and steering BOX ! and of course what tools to use and just as importantly what not to do! Do you know where all the grease nipples are? you will ! How about where all the fluid level fillers are ? You will !

Swivel housing play ? Do you know how easy it is to adjust ? You will, because I show you how and explain how not to over adjust it because I do on film! and then what problems you'll have by over doing it and how to get it right, it really is easy once you've done one !

How about greasing the brakes ? To stop them squeaking ? Yep ! but only in specific places all shown in close up as its important stuff ! How to push the brake calliper pistons back ? an easy one if you've done it before BUT what should you do before pushing them back ?

Rear brakes yep there on camera too, those big old drums get a clean and you'll see where the adjusters are and how to check the wheel cylinders. What to check the drums for and how to stop the drum sticking to the hub for the next time you remove it.

The "A" frame part of the superb design that makes landrovers do what they do is usually sound but check it properly. What other items are worthy of checking at the rear ? Fuel tank Yep rear crossmember Yep, filler and pipes Yep, all with a good view on film from underneath. In fact at less than the cost of 15 minutes labour in the UK and I'm sure in many other countries also.
